After Anna Lisa Scottoline Books
The author is usually one of my favorites. The first 90% of this novel was so predictable and frustrating. In fairness, the frustrating part was the format. Since it was so predictable, I just wanted it to be sequential. If I was the kind of person who could start a book and not finish it, I would have. It felt like a chore. I did start skimming halfway through, just to get to the end. That last 10% got good, was actually a potential plot that I would have thoroughly enjoyed, but it was rushed and overly dramatic at the same time. The Police Officers and FBI Agents would never behave that way, perhaps one individual for storyline purposes, but not the whole force. The actual ending was saccharine and simply unbelievable. Lots of potential in hindsight, but in my mind was an early rough draft that editors and publishers should have steered another direction.Tags : Amazon.com: After Anna (9781250099655): Lisa Scottoline: Books,Lisa Scottoline,After Anna,St. Martin's Press,125009965X,Thrillers - Suspense,Murder - Investigation,Step families,Stepfamilies,Teenage girls - Crimes against,Thrillers (Fiction),060101 St Martins Trade Fiction,AMERICAN MYSTERY & SUSPENSE FICTION,FICTION Thrillers Suspense,Fiction,Fiction-Suspense,FictionThrillers - Domestic,General Adult,MARKETING PROMO 1,MysterySuspense,SCOTTOLINE, LISA - PROSE & CRITICISM,Thrillers Domestic,United States, best selling authors; thriller books; domestic thrillers; domestic noir; psychological thrillers; murder mystery; murder trials; homicide trials; family crimes; family violence; blended families; mystery thriller suspense; suspense books; crime fiction; mystery books; mystery novels; mystery authors; new york times bestselling authors; women authors; female authors; family mystery fiction; mystery suspense; nail biting thriller; suspenseful novels; nail-biting thriller; barnes and noble best books of the year; BN best books of the year, domestic thrillers; domestic noir; psychological thrillers; murder mystery; murder trials; homicide trials; family crimes; family violence; blended families; mystery thriller suspense; suspense books; thriller books; crime fiction; mystery books; mystery novels; mystery authors; best selling authors; new york times bestselling authors; women authors; female authors; family mystery fiction; mystery suspense; nail biting thriller; suspenseful novels; nail-biting thriller; barnes and noble best books of the year; BN best books of the year
After Anna Lisa Scottoline Books Reviews
This is the first Lisa Scottoline book I have read - it will be the last. The plot is outrageously stupid - I mean seriously...Post Natal Psychosis, a plane crash, a 10 year old with an uncommon speech disability, 17 year old set to inherit 50 million dollars at 18 with a Trust Lawyer that signs off on a $75,000 car without blinking, murder, sex trafficking , corrupt prison guards... Why not add a terrorist dirty bomb, a few child wizards, some space aliens, and a giant Japanese monster rampaging through Tokyo?
Despite the adult subject matter, the book is written at the level of a children's novel - vocabulary and dialog is not even to par for young adults. I was hoping to find a new author with a backlog of work I could enjoy - not this one! What a waste of time and money. Next time I'll read the reviews before I buy!
Unfortunately for this reader the book dragged on and on, to the point I began to wonder how many more chapters was I going to have to read before the end would be near. Also this book reminds me of three other books I have read in the past, girl pretends to be long lost missing daughter, new husband gets accused of molesting daughter and gets framed for her murder only to be revealed....well I do not want to give away the ending. Suffice it to say I wou ld purchase this book but i am sure thousands of others will love it.
The story line itself was good, but the format was choppy, and difficult to follow. There needed to be more of a storyline once Anna as rescued. This is actually the first of Lisa Scottolines books I felt disappointed in.
It pains me to say this but this was one of the worst books I have ever tried to get through! I ended up skipping through it and finally finished it. Convoluted and stupid! What a waste of hard earned $$! On a scale of 1-10 I would not even rate it one!
Unfortunately, I don’t this this book is up to Lisa Scottoline’s usual standards. I think the plot was all over the place, and the leaps of logic were astounding. I usually really like her work, but I’m sorry to say I didn’t care so much for this one. I’ll continue to buy her books, because this is the first bad experience I’ve had.
The plot became totally unbelievable. Every story line was rushed, from Noah going to prison and getting out, from Maggie finding out the truth, to felling a murderous rampage, to Anna being rescued. And is the FBI SERIOUSLY GOING TO LET A CIVILIAN RUN INTO GUNFIRE TO REUNITE WITH HER DAUGHTER?? Come on!! And the nickname PG?? All I kept thinking was “pregnant.” Don’t waste your time!
Did Lisa scottolini write this book? I don’t know where to begin. It was a mess. Terrible dialog. Seriously calling everyone honey all the time got on my last nerve. But that was the least of the issues with this book. It jumped back and forth between courtroom and previous time which is fine but it was jumpy and not well connected. I thought maybe this was her first book and they re published it. It needs serious editing. I love her books but this was one hot mess. Don’t waste your money.
